France - Grenoble, Annecy, and also Belgium
July 14- July 21, 2018:
After an epic adventure biking over the Pyrenees and the Alps, we were off to the third leg of our vacation. We did some sightseeing, watched a stage of the Tour de France in person, and watched a handful more in some bars. We took a road trip to Belgium and checked out where the Battle of the Bulge took place. One of my favorite breweries is also in that area, so Belgium beer it is!
Stray Observations:
- The roads in France are REALLY nice, but boy are there tolls to pay for it.
- Throwing back to the good old days, you pay AFTER you pump your gas/diesel.
- In general, I never saw any factory farming. The animals peacefully roamed about.
- The butter in France is so much better. We liked it so much we learned how to ask for it in French when the waiters brought out the complimentary bread basket.
